My Favorite Travel Quotes

I love quotes. The words of other people have always had the power to motivate me, or to help me think about the world in a different way. Here are some of my favorite travel quotes:

  • “I have wandered all my life, and I have also traveled; the difference between the two being this, that we wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfillment. ”– Hilaire Belloc

Motivational Travel Quotes

  • “All that we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.” -J. R. R. Tolkien
  • “Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.”- Maya Angelou

  • “I beg young people to travel. If you don’t have a passport, get one. Take a summer, get a backpack and go to Delhi, go to Saigon, go to Bangkok, go to Kenya. Have your mind blown. Eat interesting food. Dig some interesting people. Have an adventure. Be careful. Come back and you’re going to see your country differently, you’re going to see your president differently, no matter who it is.Music, culture, food, water. Your showers will become shorter. You’re going to get a sense of what globalization looks like. It’s not what Tom Friedman writes about; I’m sorry. You’re going to see that global climate change is very real. Ooo… cheers for posting this. Love reading quotes and love travel more than most things, so having a roundup of the best of that combination makes for a good post, in my opinion!

Have to say, my fave is the Oscar Wilde. He was just about the wittiest of us all, don’t you think?

I love Oscar Wilde too, but one of my favorites has to be the one by Henry Rollins. It’s so appropriate for so many people!

      Glad you like them :)

I love travel quotes as well but tend to find that Facebook is becoming over saturated with them at the moment. Result is that I no longer think about their meaning like I used to.

My favourite is the Mark Twain quote so I will leave you with another of mine. “We only live once, but if we do it right, once is enough” – Maya West

I love ““One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.”― Paulo Coelho”

I’m still trying to decide what to do with my life at the moment but these quotes have been a bit of an inspiration.
